This easy Pull Apart Pizza Slice is a fun, family-friendly recipe that’s perfect for baby-led weaning, toddlers and older kids too. Made with puff pastry, passata, mozzarella and your favourite toppings, it has all the flavours of pizza but in a soft, tear-and-share style slice that little hands will love.
It’s ideal for quick lunches, picky toddler meals, lunchboxes, picnics or an easy dinner when you need something simple but still delicious. You can keep it vegetarian with finely diced peppers, mushrooms and cherry tomatoes, or add shredded chicken for extra protein. The puff pastry bakes until golden and crisp on top, while staying soft enough for younger children to enjoy once cooled.
This BLW pizza slice is also a great way to use up leftover vegetables or cooked chicken, making it a flexible, no-faff recipe for busy parents. Slice into squares and serve with cucumber sticks, fruit, yoghurt or steamed veggies for a balanced baby and toddler-friendly meal.

Ingredients
- 1 x 475g sheet of puff pastry
- 1/2 cup (125ml) of passata with garlic and herbs
- Toppings of choice: quartered cherry tomatoes, finely diced mushrooms, finely diced or shredded chicken, sliced or finely diced peppers etc.
- 1 cup (125g) of grated mozzarella
Instructions
Pre-heat the oven to 180°C and line or grease a square oven dish, approx 20cm x 20cm
Tear the puff pastry sheet into small pieces and roll them into balls, placing them into the oven dish as you go
Flatten the balls slightly in the dish with your hands to ensure there are no large gaps between the balls
Pour the passata over the pastry and spread it out evenly
Sprinkle over your desired toppings and then top with mozzarella cheese
Place the dish into the oven to bake for 20-25 minutes until golden
Cool and slice into 4 or 6 squares… Enjoy!
Notes

Freezing and re-heating advice:
Let the food cool fully, then place on a baking tray flat in the freezer for up to an hour. Then you can put them into an airtight container or freezer bags, this will stop them sticking together.
They will keep in the freezer for up to 3 months.
Remove as many from the freezer as you need and defrost fully at room temp or overnight in the fridge. Place the food back on a baking tray in the oven at a low temp. Heat until piping hot throughout.

How To Serve for 6-7 months: Slice into finger width pieces and offer one slice at a time
How To Serve for 8-9 months+: Cut into smaller bite sized pieces for older babies to help develop or master pincer grip.
