Ingredients

  • 2 medium bananas, mashed (the riper, the better!)
  • 2 cups (250g) of self-raising flour
  • 1/3 cup (83ml) of butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup (80g) of blueberries, sliced in half

Instructions

Pre-heat the oven to 180°C and line a large baking tray

Add all of the ingredients into a large mixing bowl and stir to form a thick dough - you may need to go in with your hands

Roll out the dough to a 5mm thickness and then slice it into fingers (5cm (L) x 3cm (W) x 0.5cm (H))

Place the fingers onto the prepared baking tray and place them into the oven to bake for 12-15 minutes

Serve and enjoy once cooled. 

Notes

Freezing and re-heating advice:
Let the food cool fully, then place on a baking tray flat in the freezer for up to an hour. Then you can put them into an airtight container or freezer bags, this will stop them sticking together. They will keep in the freezer for up to 3 months. Remove as many from the freezer as you need and defrost fully at room temp or overnight in the fridge.

How To Serve for 6-7 months: Keep whole and offer one finger at a time
How To Serve for 8-9 months+: Cut the fingers into half or quarters depending on appetite. Cut into smaller bite sized pieces for older babies to help develop or master pincer grip.
