These Tomato & Cheddar Lunch Biscuits are a quick and easy baby-led weaning and toddler-friendly lunch idea, perfect for busy days when you need something simple, filling and homemade. Made with cottage cheese, cheddar, eggs, fresh tomatoes and self-raising flour, they’re soft, cheesy and easy for little hands to hold.
These savoury lunch biscuits are great for babies from 6 months, toddlers and the whole family. They’re perfect served warm or cold, making them ideal for lunchboxes, picnics, nursery lunches or batch-cooking ahead for the week. Ingredients
- 2 cups (440g) of cottage cheese
- 2 cups (250g) of self-raising flour
- 3 medium eggs
- 3 tomatoes, finely diced
- 2 cups (248g) of grated cheddar cheese
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 180°C and line two large baking trays
Add all of the ingredients to a large mixing bowl and stir well to combine
Add two tablespoons of the mix per biscuit onto the prepared baking trays, spacing the mixture at least 2cm apart (an ice cream scoop is very handy here)
Place the biscuits into the oven to bake for 20-25 minutes
Serve and enjoy once cooled.
Notes
Freezing and re-heating advice:
Let the food cool fully, then place on a baking tray flat in the freezer for up to an hour. Then you can put them into an airtight container or freezer bags, this will stop them sticking together.
They will keep in the freezer for up to 3 months.
Remove as many from the freezer as you need and defrost fully at room temp or overnight in the fridge. Place the food back on a baking tray in the oven at a low temp. Heat until piping hot throughout.

How To Serve for 6-7 months: Slice into finger width pieces and offer one slice at a time
How To Serve for 8-9 months+: Cut into smaller bite sized pieces for older babies to help develop or master pincer grip.
